Miner's Memorial Park
Miner's Memorial Park, a monument to the achievement of the men and women of American Electric Power and Central Ohio Coal Company, sits magestically atop a hill in another byway landmark, the AEP Recreation Land. The park is home to "the Muskie Bucket," all that remains of the Big Muskie, the largest gragline ever built , which from 1969 to 1991 moved more than 483 million tons of rock and stone preparing the land for surface coal mining.
