The Muskingum River Parkway
The Muskingum River Parkway is a National Civil Engineering Landmark, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and Ohio's second recognized Water Trail. Its historic sustem of ten locks and dams passing through four counties once helped connect Lake Erie to the Ohio River and from the 1840s to the 1890s brought goods and services in and out of interior Ohio. Still used today, the one-of-a-kind, hand-operated lock and dam system now provides access up and down this spectacular recreational water corridor.
